Safety, Health and Environment Policy

The management of Leather from Hart, striving for excellence in all we do, recognises the impact that our activities may have on people and the environment.

We are therefore committed to our Responsibilities in respect of Safety, Health and the Environment, which are Integral to the way we do business. Having identified our Major Risk, top management of Leather from Hart is committed to eliminate our hazards and manage our Risks as identified in the Risk Management Process. When we conduct our business of building a legacy that every employee, their families and future generations can be fiercely proud of, we will Develop, Implement and Maintain Management Systems for Safety, Health and Environment that are consistent with local and internationally recognised standards. We will manage our company, wherever we do business, in an ethical way that strikes an appropriate and well-reasoned balance between economic, social and environmental needs and requirements.

We are committed to:

  • Conducting our business with respect and care for our people and the environment.
  • Identifying, Assessing and Managing risk to our Employees, Contractors, Service Providers and Communities.
  • Responsible utilisation and conservation of natural resources.
  • Demonstrating a System for Continuous Improvement towards Safety, Health and Environment.
  • Complying, as a minimum, with all applicable Local, International Legal and Customer requirements.
  • Promoting dialogue with stakeholders about Safety, Health and Environmental performance.
  • Communicating and making this policy available to all employees, local authorities and interested parties.
  • Monitoring and Measurement of the effectiveness of the SHEQ Policy.

We will achieve these by:

  • Developing, Implementing, Maintaining and Continuously Improving Safety, Health and Environmental Management system.
  • Continuous Awareness Training to our Employees, Contractors, Suppliers and Service providers on Safety, Health and Environmental Matters.
  • Responding effectively to Safety, Health and Environmental Incidents and Emergencies involving our Activities and Products.
  • As far as reasonably practicable, providing appropriate framework and resources required to implement the above.
  • Regularly review our performance and report our progress, and ensure that this policy remains relevant to the needs of the Stakeholders and the Environment.
